Village Diary

5th January Saturday
Wassailing with The Long Man Morris, The Old Star Morris and the Winter Solstice Mummers guide the proceedings, as they do every year. There will be Morris dancing by the war memorial and a highly entertaining mummers play, followed by the wassailing in the garden behind the pub. Wassailing is a traditional and sometimes noisy blessing of the apple trees to ensure a good harvest for the following year. It's a lot of fun so arrive early, dress warmly and be prepared to join in!
